For years, I have dealt with emotional abuse. Although it seems like it is okay to deal with such a thing, think of this: all those people who commit suicide because of bullies were emotionally abused.
One way is to cut out toxic people in your life. Another way, is to realize something significant. If someone has a problem with you, what you think, feel, and believe, their real problem is with themselves. No matter how much you change, someone will always ridicule you, belittle you, or put you down.
Truth of the matter is, most of those people have serious issues with THEMSELVES. It is not you, it is them. We are a reflection of each other, we do not realize this.
If it is a family member, sometimes it is better to walk away or stand up for yourself.
sometimes having a support group is helpful.
